HE WHO MOVES FIRST ALWAYS WINS L Lawliet is an exceedingly strange individual. He is a genius, with powers of deduction not matched by any in his fandom besides, perhaps, Raito. He often comes up with clever, intricate plans that expertly trick the people involve. It is stated he takes only cases that interest him or meet certain requirements. He nearly never reveals himself, doing most of his work from a far. When meeting L face to face the strange qualities are apparent. He has a very large sweet tooth, constantly eating sugar packed desserts and is never shown eating anything considered ‘healthy.’ He’s normally slumped over, with terrible posture, and only wears shoes when absolutely necessary, never socks. He has constant bags under his eyes, presumably since he rarely sleeps, and his voice is rather like a drone, a monotone like one deep in thought. He seems to have little understanding of normal interactions between people and tends to be a bit blunt or rude. L rubs many people he meets the wrong way, though his obvious passion for the cases he works on and his sometimes childlike moments ((the ‘Justice will prevail’ moment for example)) give him redeeming qualities to others. L states that Kira is an immature, sore loser just like he is. He is normally composed, though he occasionally has bursts of drive when something in a case comes together, or even over the top reactions, such as when he first figured out that Kira may work with a shinigami. Despite his logical views he is able to accept strange, supernatural events, such as the Death Note, with seemingly no problems.
